A young woman juicing up her Nintendo 64 console

Different varieties of juice seem to have different effects on the game.

  • Apple juice appears to make Mario jump higher.
  • Pineapple juice appears to make Mario jump farther
  • Lemon juice appears to speed up the game by 400%
  • Pomegranate juice appears to destroy the console
  • Prune juice appears to give Mario the runs
  • POG seems to be the best juice to use for the A Button Challenge, as it makes Mario do repeated kicks without having to hold down the A button.

More Information

Juice Strats was discovered on September 23rd, 2012 by rennenhoek1991 after reviewing a twitch video sent to him by an unknown individual, where speedrunner and TASer Granite839 accidentally dropped his N64 into a nearby container of apple juice.

Juice Strats became a hot-button issue in the SM64 community, as many complained that it constituted Hardware Manipulation, after nearly a year of community discussion, it was banned from runs on July 21st, 2012.
